Can MHS be of help?
The Midlands is happy to assist resident of Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County Iowa in the event they are faced with some food insecurities with their pets. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, clubs and generous donors we often have cat and dog food to share with our community members who need some assistance. We do request that you provide proof of residency in the city or county. We can sometimes also assist pet owners with shampoo, leashes, collars or kennels when we have a surplus of these types of products.
It is important to us to help keep pets in their homes. If we can be a resource to divert an animal being surrendered to us for lack of food or supplies, we are more than happy to help where we can. If you would like some advice, please give us a call at 712-396-2270 so we can best assist you.
Another local source for assistance for humans and pets is Our Saviors Lutheran Church, located at 313 Story Street in Council Bluffs. They operate a food pantry for both people and their animals. They can be reached at 712-322-6655.
