What should I do to become a new volunteer?
We're Glad You're Here!
Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering with us at Midlands Humane Society. We are very grateful for your support and would be thrilled to have you join our volunteer team. There are few things as rewarding as helping a homeless animal find a new home and when you volunteer at MHS, you make a difference for homeless animals AND the people adopting them.
Volunteering can take a variety of forms at MHS with opportunities including animal socialization and enrichment, adoption counseling, special events, building upkeep and even becoming a mentor to new volunteers joining the program. Our volunteer team members give their heart, time, and talent to change the lives of thousands of pets each year. We could not do what we do without volunteers, and we have unmet needs waiting for more talented volunteers to help us fulfill our mission!
You will want to think about what passions and skill-sets you have that you would like to share with MHS. For instance, do you love to be outside walking and helping train dogs? Or are you more comfortable interacting with cats? Do you want to help clean or provide general maintenance? Are you great at organizing? Maybe you prefer to help with office work? What about gardening and yard work? Maybe you'd love to help organize and facilitate events? MHS offers all these unique volunteer opportunities so you, as a volunteer are fulfilled and know that you are helping MHS increase our bandwidth!
What should you do NOW?
