Our Programs
At Midlands Humane Society (MHS), our mission extends far beyond helping pets find loving homes. We’re evolving into a community-centered resource for people and their pets—offering programs that keep families together, support lifelong learning, and improve animal wellness in our region.
Whether you’re searching for a lost pet, wanting to learn more about animal sheltering, or looking for affordable veterinary care, MHS is here to help.
Lost & Found Services
Lost your pet? Found a stray? MHS offers a compassionate, organized system to reunite pets with their families. From online listings and community outreach to in-shelter resources, our team is committed to keeping pets where they belong—home.
Sit. Stay. Read.
This popular youth summer reading program pairs young readers with attentive, tail-wagging listeners—our shelter dogs! It’s a fun, confidence-boosting way for kids to strengthen literacy skills while giving adoptable animals some much-loved attention.
Community Vaccine Clinics
Keeping pets healthy keeps our community strong. That’s why we host free and low-cost vaccine clinics throughout the year, helping pet owners access core vaccinations and basic wellness care, regardless of income level.
