Midlands Humane Society Presents 6th Annual Canines in Costumes

Council Bluffs, IA – Midlands Humane Society (MHS), a volunteer-led group, presents their 6th annual Canines In Costumes event on Sunday, October 19, 2014. The event will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Bayliss Park in beautiful downtown Council Bluffs, Iowa and all vaccinated dogs are welcome.

The afternoon will be filled with music, over 20 vendors offering goods and services for your pet(s), paw painting, photo booth, games with prizes for your B.F.F. (best furry friend) and our ever so popular costume parade around the park. The costume contest will have 3 categories: small dog, big dog and “costume of shame.” Free Growloween treat bags for the first 100 parade entries. We are also offering a limited number of dogs to be micro-chipped for $25.

MHS will have Wagbags and sweatshirts available for purchase to support the MHS Building Fund. The Wagbags are filled with great items for dogs and their owners donated by local businesses. We will also have raffle baskets filled with snacks and goodies for the family pet.

“We look forward to another successful and fun Canines in Costume event. Don’t have a dog? Come enjoy a beautiful fall day in the park filled with fun and entertainment,” said Terri Gach-Mils, MHS Event Chair.

Need to add a four-legged furry friend to your family? We will have several rescue groups in attendance promoting their causes along with dogs and cats available for adoption.
